EVENT TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPS HIGH-SPEED INTERCONNECT, LVI

Event Technologies Inc has developed a high-speed interconnect between the Symbolics 3600 family of artificial intelligence processors and the VMEbus: the LVI can transfer data between a Symbolics system and VMEbus-based hardware at burst rates approaching 40Mbytes-per-second and includes 128Kb of dual-ported memory for sharing control and status information between the Symbolics and VMEbus subsystem; Event Technologies will market it at UKP10,000, beginning this June.
