Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp is getting into the fun-and-games end of the business, paying $2m for a stake in Iwerks Entertainment Inc. It has bought 210,526 preferred shares at $9.50 per share in the company, with which it is already working on a new virtual reality product, Virtual Adventures, which is intended to be completed in spring 1994. Virtual Adventures is a high-capacity virtual reality attraction for the arcade market. Iwerks Entertainment, based in Burbank, California equips speciality movie theatres in theme parks, educational institutions and visitors’ centres. The first of the real-time three-dimensional interactive adventures will be an underwater fantasy adventure, Salt Lake City, Utah-based Evans & Sutherland said.
