Salt Lake City, Utah-based Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp is celebrating two enviable contracts: its new ESIG-3000AT visual system has been chosen for the US Advanced Computer Generated Image System Programme being procured by the National Aeronautics & Space Administration’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia – the initial award is for a three-channel ESIG-3000AT, and there are options for two additional image generators with a Scene Modelling System to support visual database development and modification in deals that could reach $8m; the other contract is for ESIG-2000 image generators for the British Army’s Challenger Main Battle Tank Training programme and was won in partnership with Atlas Elecktronik GmbH, of Bremen.
