The chief executive of Pandesic LLC, the internet commerce joint venture between Intel Corp and SAP AG has resigned and the company now says it is ‘refocusing on the US market. Bryan Plug will leave the company on May 31 and is considering his options, including returning to SAP. Apparently Plug wanted to pursue an international agenda for the company, but the rest of the management did not want to, so they parted company. Plug spent a lot of time traveling in Europe and Asia promoting the company, which was only formed last August. Former Intel executive and current Pandesic chairman, Harold Hughes, will take over Plug’s duties, but there is no word yet on whether he will maintain both positions going forward. As a result of its re-focus on the US, which the Sunnyvale company describes as short-term, it will delay opening offices in Europe until late this year or early next; it had planned to start next month. Pandesic software is based on SAP/s R/3 architecture.
