WatchGuard [WGRD] and SonicWall [SNWL] came in with a 5% and 3% share, respectively.

The mid-cap sector, which traditionally has under-invested in security, has started to view appliances as one way to meet their security policy requirements without adding large administrative overheads, the market researchers suggest.

Sales in Western Europe outperformed those in other regions, and now represent 25% of the worldwide appliance market, both by revenue and units shipped.
