South Korea and the European Community have reached agreement in principle that will remove the threat of anti-dumping duties on South Korean dynamic RAMs, Reuter reports from Seoul: South Korea pledged that its exporters would set prices at levels that would give them a 9.5% profit on production costs of the chips; the agreement runs from next month though to March 17 1998; the Community imposed provisional anti-dumping duties of 10.1% on Sasmung Electronics Co Ltd, Goldstar Electron Co Ltd and Hyundai Electronics Industries Co Ltd in September, and was to rule on final dumping charges March 18.
