LTE operators in Europe have reduced the price for existing 4G services, research from Tariff Consultancy has revealed.
The average LTE tariff on a monthly basis per GB for the quarter ending December 2013 in the EU region was 1.75, followed by 2.17 in the rest of Europe, 2.63 in the Middle East, 4.97 in Americas, 5.07 in Asia Pacific and 9.11 in Africa.
In France, 4G services were charged at the same price as 3G data, while Germany saw a 40% price reduction for entry level pricing.
Meanwhile, UK operators are allowing users to subscribe to either Spotify Premium or Sky Sports Mobile with a free period ranging from 6 months up to 24 months.
Another trend is the introduction of ‘add ons’, with Italy charging an additional €5 per month for 4G Internet Plus, which allows users to download speeds of up to 70Mbps with existing user data allowance.
The 27TCL Global LTE Pricing Tariff Tracker report also showed that eight South American operators have launched 4G services in Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Paraguay and Uruguay.
The TCL report includes the latest 4G tariffs from 130 operators in more than 70 countries.
