The Expert Trading System being developed jointly by IBM, Sumitomo Bank Capital Markets Inc and Decision Software Inc (CI No 992) will be based on the IBM RT Unix workstation, and is being designed to enable firms that trade securities to co ordinate financial transactions by using a common database containing information on all fixed income and foreign exchange instruments including bonds, futures, options and swaps: the system will be delivered first to Sumitomo Bank Capital Markets in New York and then be made generally available to the financial industry in the US and other countries, being jointly marketed by IBM and Decision.
