IPC Corp Ltd is to license the system software of its new MY.G.NiE entertainment system to Escom AG, which gets 150,000 licences for a two-year period from December 1 to start with. Escom will use the system software in its new range of Commodore personal computers for sale in Europe. As reported (CI No 2,775) MY.G.NiE incorporates a computer with 15 screen, television tuner, sound system including FM tuner and audio Compact Disk player, and telephone with answering and facsimile functions. Running under Windows95, it also includes a karaoke system. It said at the launch that orders had already been received for 80,000, and that sales next year could go to 300,000.
