ERSKINE HOUSE PLC PROSPERS FROM CONCENTRATION ON OFFICE BUSINESSES

By CBR Staff Writer

Erskine House Group Plc is now focussed totally at the office equipment market, having sold off both Erskine Fire and its pest control business. Reporting pre-tax profit for the year up 63% to just over UKP15m, Erskine believes itself to now be the largest independent office equipment servicing business in the UK. Within the UK side of the business, a new division, Erskine Office Systems has been established and is composed of two acquisitions: Quest Group Plc and Electronic Printing Systems. It was set up to deal with the selling and servicing of laser printers, computers and specialised software products such as electronic printng fonts. During the year ADS oa Ltd became part of Erskine Communications, enabling the group to add major national accounts for copiers to its order books. The group’s US business now contributes around 40% of turnover, and over the past year Erskine has moved into the San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Miami markets. A start has also been made in penetrating the continental market with subsidiaries in Frankfurt and Hamburg adding UKP1.5m to the group’s total UKP166m turnover.
