ERICSSON’S AXE CUT INTO SERVICE IN THE US MARKET BY MOUNTAIN BELL

The first Ericsson Axe local exchange has been cut into service in the US market by US West Inc’s Mountain Bell to serve around 10,000 customers, and the Swedish company is aiming to deliver another six to the Bell operating companies by the end of 1987: we are currently looking at sites where we could manufacture the Axe in the US, but this is dependent on how much business we make in the US, says vice president of development at Ericsson John Meurling.
