As a result of these contracts with China Mobile subsidiaries, Ericsson’s AXI IP Backbone Routers now form 75% of the operator’s backbone network: This is further proof of Ericsson’s leadership in China’s data and mobile infrastructure market.

Ericsson will provide its industry leading AXI 520 IP Backbone Routers (based on Juniper Networks M40) for Shandong Mobile. For Shanxi Mobile and Inner Mongolia Mobile, Ericsson will provide the AXI 520 IP Backbone Routers and the internally developed AXC 623 and 470 Access Servers. All contracts include comprehensive services such as deployment, support and training.

In Poland, Ericsson has been chosen by the leading Polish network operator Telekommunikacja Polska (TPS.A.) for the upgrade of its IP capability. It’s an extension of an existing contract that calls for Ericsson’s AXI 580IP Backbone Routers (based on Juniper Networks M160) and services.

Through enhancement of the core network throughput to 2.5Gbit/s, the Polish carrier will be able to offer Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) services, as well as providing the platform for a converged multi-service network. End users will immediately benefit from faster Internet access and improved corporate data connectivity. The upgraded network will also provide greater network stability and enable TPS.A. to offer an extended range of services, including IP Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), strengthening the carrier’s position as the leading IP services provider in Central and Eastern Europe.
