L M Ericsson Telefon AB has won a $6m contract from Mexico’s Telmex telecommunications administration for a cellular radio system for the city of Tijuana: the contract includes one AXE mobile telephone switch and five radio base stations that will serve 3,000 subscribers; the AMPS cellular system is of the type used in the US, where Ericsson claims 25% of the cellular market.
