Similar to other operators in its market Ericsson’s microelectronics division has been struggling to make ends meet. In the second quarter results, Ericsson reported that operating margins from other operations, which includes microelectronics, were lower than the previous year.
Ericsson has suffered, as a result of the global downturn in the telecommunications market. The company has accrued high losses, which the sale would go some way to counterbalance.
