ERICSSON TO RESELL MICROMUSE’S NETCOOL

By CBR Staff Writer

LM Ericsson Telefon is to become a reseller of London-based Micromuse Plc’s highly thought-of Netcool/OMNIbus network management software, in a deal valued at 500,000 British pounds. Ericsson’s Data Networks Business Unit will resell the software to its corporate customers. Netcool/OMNIbus is designed for large scale service level management, integrating heterogeneous management systems in a single management environment. It collects, duplicates and filters network fault data providing information customized to individual users requirements. Last year Micromuse, which has offices in London, New York, San Francisco and Dallas and employing 80 people, reported revenues of $18m. Stephen Allot, managing director, Europe at Micromuse is predicting further business relations with Ericsson in the future.
