The goal is to push the uptake of mobile broadband and multimedia services for enterprises and consumers.
The companies would jointly develop integrated platforms for mobile operators, based on Ericsson’s HSPA broadband and IMS for convergence combined with Intel’s Core microarchitecture silicon.
This will include seamless broadband access and a managed PC environment for enterprise IT. Also, mobile high-def multimedia communication, entertainment and web services for consumers.
The partnership will also include marketing and joint programs for ISVs. The pair plans to provide software makers with development tools, early access to systems, training and validation support.
