The worldwide program will try to help network operators, developers, content providers and enterprises to collaborate on developing and bringing to market innovative applications and services, for millions of Mobile Internet users worldwide.

Ericsson also announced the first three regional centers to be included in Ericsson Mobility World. These centers, which are all already working on Mobile Internet projects with Ericsson partners, are based in New York, Dusseldorf and Madrid. The plan is to establish centers in all the main countries where there is early potential for Mobile Internet, building on Ericsson’s expertise and experience in developing industry partnerships with companies of all sizes.

The Mobile Internet industry needs to create a critical mass of applications and services that people really want, and to get these to market as quickly as possible, says Torbjorn Nilsson, senior vice president, Ericsson in a media statement.
