Kista, Sweden-based Netwise offers systems for legacy and virtual PBX switches, IP telephony and wireless communication systems. Essentially, it offers systems to identify incoming calls and route them to the most appropriate person.

It aims to provide callers with correct and relevant information on who might be able to answer their questions, the whereabouts of a particular person, and when they will be available.

Ericsson, which boasts 100,000 enterprise customers, said it saw a growing market for systems based on IP, mobility and convergence and believed it had an opportunity to strengthen this offering to the enterprise market with Netwise’s technology.

Shareholders who hold 76% of the voting rights in Netwise have agreed to accept the offer.
