By CBR Staff Writer

Ericsson has received orders totalling $26.8m for AXE switching and cellular equipment in Venezuela: the first order, valued at $23m is from Compania Anonima Nacional Telefonos de Venezuela for the delivery and installation of AXE switching equipment; the equipment will be manufactured in Sweden for installation in Caracas and two other cities during 1992; Ericsson has also received a separate order to extend the cellular mobile system in and around Caracas – the company installed the original CMS88 system in 1988, and now has been contracted to expand the system for twice the number of subscribers; the new cellular mobile order is worth $4m.
