Ericsson announces further expansion to China Mobile’s IP backbone network

Ericsson announced it will build out the provincial IP backbone networks for Chinese mobile operators Shandong Mobile, Shanxi Mobile and Inner Mongolia Mobile, all subsidiaries of China Mobile Communications(China Mobile), with its IP backbone routers and services.

Under the contract with Shandong Mobile, Ericsson will provide its AXI 520 IP backbone routers for the operator’s provincial IP backbone network. Ericsson will also supply extensive customer services, such as installation, support and training.

The network aims to carry GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) mobile services and a variety of data, voice and multimedia services.
