Electronic Associates Inc is the subject of an investment stake that might lead to a bid for the analogue computer pioneer. group including Philadelphia investor Raymond Perelman has a built up a 5.8% holding in the company and says that it may seek control through a negotiated transaction, a tender or exchange offer, a proxy contest or by buying more shares. It also says it may contact the firm’s management to seek board representation. Standard Microsystems Corp, Hauppauge, New York, has caught the eye of a group including C B Equities Corp, which says it has built up a 13.4% stake in the chipmaker, and may seek to take control. The group plans to meet the company this month.
