EquiLend said its AuctionPort tool enables lenders to host and conduct blind and open auctions of portfolios on behalf of their clients.
The product is also designed to offer another route to market and distribution model for the company’s clients, and allows lenders to provide their clients with the ability to watch the auction process directly.
The service is extremely flexible, said Melissa Hodson, director of clients services for EquiLend. It allows a lender to invite any bidder to participate, be they an existing EquiLend user or not.
The product has already been deployed by European investment specialist Robeco to conduct an open auction of a portfolio of Taiwanese securities.
