The transaction is anticipated to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012

By CBR Staff Writer

Swedish private equity firm EQT Partners has agreed to acquire IT process automation software firm UC4 from the Carlyle Group for $270m.

EQT is expected to support UC4 in accelerating its international sales, strengthening its ONE Automation platform and further expanding its product offerings particularly in application, release and cloud automation

The company had recently released its Application Release Automation on its existing ONE Automation platform.

ONE Automation platform delivers IT Process Automation for organisations facing dynamic applications and infrastructure, and those migrating to next generation service models for Cloud, DevOps and Big Data.

Austria-based UC4 was acquired by the Carlyle Europe Technology Partners in March 2006.

UC4 generated revenues of about EUR62m for the year ended April 2012 and claims that it has over 2,000 customers and helps organisations in managing IT landscapes.

Carlyle Group managing director Michael Wand said, "Partnering with the founding management in 2006, we had the joint vision to create the largest independent IT automation software vendor through strong commitment to R&D, product innovation, marketing and sales focus, and three add-on acquisitions, including the merger with Appworx in the US."
