Epson America has unveiled the Perfection V600 Photo scanner, a new mid-range scanning device offering improved performance for photos, film, slides, and documents. The new V600 scanner features 6400 x 9600 dpi resolution and 3.4 Dmax for creating enlargements up to 17-inch x 22-inch.

Epson said that the new V600 scanner includes photo restoration tools for both film and prints to bring faded and damaged photos back to life, and productivity enhancing its ReadyScan LED technology.

According to Epson, the new V600 scanner provides a photo restoration, using Digital Ice technology to remove the appearance of dust and scratches from film and the appearance of tears and creases from old photos. It also features the company’s Easy Photo Fix technology to restore faded colour photos, and a built-in transparency unit (TPU) for 35mm slides, negatives and medium-format panoramic film up to 6 x 22 cm.

The company said that the new V600 scanner enables users to scan, copy, scan-to-e-mail and create PDFs with four push customiable buttons. The company’s ReadyScan LED technology allows for improved scan speeds with no warm-up time and increased energy efficiency.

In addition, the new V600 scanner comes with Adobe PhotoShop Elements for photo editing and ABBYY Fine Reader Sprint Plus OCR for converting scanned documents into editable text.
