Hemel-Hempstead, Hertfordshire-based Epson UK Ltd has a 48-pin heavy duty, continuous run dot matrix printer, the Epson TLQ4800: the printer uses either a film or a fabric ribbon, has a print resolution of 360 by 360 dots per inch, choice of 10 fonts, a draft print speed of 300chps and a letter quality speed of 100chps, both at 12 characters per inch; further features available as options are a double bin cut-sheet feeder, and a pull-feed tractor 48 pins is a helluva lot, and Epson claims the resolution is better than the average laser printer, but the printer is priced at a daunting UKP2,200 – which may sound high for a matrix.
