Epson has introduced new pair of smart glasses, the Moverio BT-200, at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas, US.

Moverio BT-200 runs on the Android 4.0 operating system and features Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth, while being powered by the 1.2GHz dual core processor.

The new smart glass has two transparent screens working together to display a clear image in the centre of field of vision.

According to the company, the glasses come with built-in sensors like gyroscope, GPS, accelerometer, microphone, Dolby Digital Plus sound capability and a multi-touch trackpad for controlling its functions and running applications.

Epson UK Visual Imaging business manager Graeme Davidson said by tapping into this growing demand for wearable technology, the company has developed the BT-200.

"It’s not vapour-ware, it’s a real proposition, as we’ve been in this market with a tangible product that has been available to purchase since 2011," Davidson added.

The current device is the second smart wearable device launched by the company following the the BT-100 video glasses, which were introduced three years ago.
