AT&T Co is taking control of personal communicator builder Eo Inc, and Eo will add AT&T’s brand name to its AT&T Hobbit RISC-based PDA 440 and 880 Personal Digital Assistants, and will have access to ATT’s communications technology, services and sales channels. Mountain View, California-based Eo was founded in 1991 by ATT, venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Matsushita Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd and Marubeni Corp. The AT&T EO 440 Personal Communicator, with facsimile, electronic mail, cellular phone and personal computing capabilities, will be in some AT&T Phone Centers and at authorised Eo resellers, at from $2,000, later this month.
