Enterasys Networks, a unit of Siemens Enterprise Communications, has launched the new OneFabric Connect software defined networking (SDN) application which claimed to offer pre-defined and customer defined applications.
The system is claimed to focus on new services through an open API and flow-based ASIC design that speed up application integration for the whole network.
According to the company, the new SDN allows integration of third-party applications into the OneFabric Control Center to offer enhanced enterprise mobility, zero-effort onboarding and BYOD support.
Enterasys Networks chief technology strategist Markus Nispel said that the customers are tasked with finding systems to combat the rapid rate at which network usage and complexity is increasing.
"Through OneFabric Connect SDN, IT is able to create a dynamic and agile network infrastructure that’s aimed at the deployment of new services through common APIs," Nispel added.
OneFabric Connect Central SDN offers data centre applications, network edge and access applications like MDM, web filtering and Unified Communications.
In addition, the SDN offers centralised management and policy through the network fabric for any device and also has programmable interfaces to automate and orchestrate network fabric configuration.
In addition, the company has also unveiled a developer community called Connect Central which allows access to a portal to develop and programme on the open API.
