Enea Data AB, based in Taby, Sweden reports that its OSE Delta real-time operating system is now up and running on the PowerPC 603 processor. The operating system, which has a substantial following in the European embedded market, particularly in the telecommunications and manufacturing sectors has been up on the PowerPC 601 for a while. Rather like the Japanese Tron, the OSE operating system comes in number of guises, ranging from OSE Auric which runs on signal processors, through OSE Basic, designed for 8-bit processors, to OSE Delta, aimed primarily at large, distributed systems where fault-tolerance is required.
