EMULEX SETS UK FACTORY

By CBR Staff Writer

Intending to become an even bigger thorn in DEC’s side, Emulex Corp’s UK subsidiary plans to integrate its VAX-compatible storage subsystems in the UK, and has begun converting a 10,000 square foot plant beside its European head office in Bracknell, Berkshire. Employing at least 40, the plant will integrate UK cabinets, power supplies and cabling, with US-made Emulex controllers and magnetic and optical disk, and tape units bought OEM from CDC, Fujitsu, Maxtor, Cipher, Kennedy, Optimem and Optical Storage Inc.
