EMULEX CORP HAS ADDED A PC01 SMART UNIX SERIAL CARD DESIGNED TO TURN IAPX-86 PERSONAL COMPUTERS INTO MULTIUSER UNIX SYSTEMS

Emulex Corp, Costa Mesa, California has added a PC01 Smart Unix Serial Card designed to turn iAPX-86 personal computers into multiuser Unix systems: it supports up to 16 users with all lines operating at speeds of 38.4Kbps, and up to three PC01s can be installed; the company also has a new DCP-286/MC front-end communications processor for Micro Channel machines, which can be used by OEM customers to create X25 and SNA processors; the Unix board is $1,200 with eight lines, $1,600 with 16; the DCP-286/MC is $1,900.
