Cap Gemini Sogeti SA says it has taken no decision regarding seven employees of its Copernique subsidiary, who have refused to accept the company’s proposed salary reduction: according to La Tribune-Defosses, Copernique, which is part of Cap Gemini’s Cap Sesa French division and makes disks for Bull systems, had decided to fire the seven people who would not accept the company’s request to take a cut in their monthly salary of between 10% and 25% for six months; the request was made in view of the difficult situations of adjusting the volume of activity to the resources of the company, the paper said; a Cap Gemini spokeswoman said that any decision on firing the seven employees would have to be taken by the company’s labour-management committee, which is scheduled to meet next on August 31.
