IBM can in no way be faulted for the way it bends over backwards to look after its employees, but could it be said that the company sometimes goes a little too far? According to the Daily Mail, an IBM UK high flyer, Christopher Bowers, is also a staunch follower of the most controversial of the current crop of Indian gurus, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, who is said to teach that celibacy causes AIDS and that sex is a path to spiritual enlightenment, is barred from entering the UK and was deported from the US for immigration offences: of Bowers, reportedly involved in establishing a World Academy of Creative Science on behalf of the Bhagwan, IBM says loyally that he has made no secret of his connections with the guru, and was capable of keeping his private life and IBM career separate.
