EMC Corp denies any suggestion that its storage system salespeople are shown the door if they lose an account to Hewlett-Packard Co. A company spokesperson told ComputerWire he didn’t think it had lost one to HP in any case and that it rarely comes up against HP in the storage market. EMC claims it turned down the opportunity to sell storage servers to ASP Qwest Communications because the terms it was offering were simply not in line with its ability to offer a robust, highly-available solution. Qwest, which instead went to HP for its outsourced storage, may not have chosen the right equipment for the job, EMC said.
