The company said storage systems and software license and maintenance revenue grew 14% to $2.87 billion, while content management and archiving revenue rose 18% to $204m. Revenue from its RSA division grew 15% to $144m, while sales at its VMware arm rose 52% to $453m.

Geographically, revenue from the US increased 10%, while revenue outside the US grew 27%. Revenue from the EMEA region grew 27%, Asia Pacific and Japan rose 27%, and Latin America increased 24%.

Despite continued economic uncertainty at the macro level, we believe spending on information infrastructure and virtual infrastructure technologies and solutions will continue to grow, driven largely by the need to manage the ever-expanding volume of information efficiently, securely, and cost effectively.

For the year, it expects the consolidated revenue to exceed $15 billion.
