Based in Maryland, Internosis employs around 250 service staff, and will form a Microsoft practice within EMC’s over 9,000-strong services organization. EMC did not say how much it paid for Internosis.

Last month EMC announced a revamp to its services that saw it update its online support systems, open a new support center at the company’s headquarters in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and promise to launch remote support services tailored for the public sector, during the first quarter of 2006.

In the first three quarters of 2005, EMC’s revenue from professional services, systems maintenance and other services was 17% of the company’s total revenue, up from 16% in the same period a year earlier.
