Information and virtual infrastructure technologies and solutions provider EMC has acquired Watch4net, a performance management software firm for undiclosed sum, in all-cash transaction.

Watch4net provides real-time, historical and projected visibility into the performance of the network, data centers and cloud infrastructures.

The two companies have been partners over the last seven years and worked together to deliver enterprise and carrier-class applications to meet customers’ IT management needs.

Through its EMC IT Operations Intelligence Suite the company offers a management application for physical and virtual storage, networks and compute resources which will now be complemented by Watch4net’s set of performance management capabilities.

Watch4net is already tightly integrated with IT Operations Intelligence Suite and also leverages EMC’s topology awareness, instrumentation and management console.

Following teh acquisition, Watch4net CEO Michel Foix and the team will report to EMC Infrastructure Management Group senior vice president and general manager Jay Mastaj.
