Emblaze buys into push technology start-up Smart Content

Telecommunications technology provider Emblaze Ltd is to buy a majority interest in start-up Smart Content Ltd, which offers content push technology on wireless and IP networks to mobile devices and personal computers.

Though no price was given for the deal, Emblaze said the impact on cash from group reserves is negligible.

Smart Content’s FreeMate technology is designed to automatically collect information from the web pre-defined as relevant by the user and push it to a mobile device or a PC.

Ra’anana, Israel-based Emblaze wants the FreeMate technology roadmap to be adapted to the mobile environment, and it plans to embed it into its devices over the coming year.
