ELXSI HAS SECOND QURATER LOSS; PRESIDENT LEAVES

Elxsi Corp followed up announcement of a second quarter loss of $2.8m, reversing a $3.9m profit last time on turnover that crashed 51% to $3.9m – the company blamed a spending freeze at the Pentagon – with news that president and chief executive Peter Appleton Jones had resigned to be replaced by former Systems Industries chief James Dutton: Gene Amdahl remains chairman of the San Jose minisupercomputer firm into which he merged his failed Trilogy Ltd IBMulator and waferscale venture two or three years back.
