ELEVEN MORE COMPANIES JOIN IP MULTICAST INITIATIVE

Eleven new vendors have joined the Internet Protocol Multicast Initiative. The Initiative, which is managed by Stardust Technologies, was formed in October to address the problem of overcrowding on the public Internet and corporate intranets. The Initiative promotes the deployment of IP Multicast, an industry- standard bandwidth-conserving technology. The new members, which boost charter membership to 42 companies are IFusion Com Corp, K2NET Inc, Multimedia Research Group, Newbridge Networks Corp, One Touch Systems Inc, Open Horizon Inc, PeerLogic Inc, Progressive Networks Inc, Rapid City Communications Inc, Starlight Networks and Xing Technology Corp.
