The UK Civil Aviation Authority has signed Electronic Data Systems Inc to run its administrative – but not air traffic control – computer systems under a seven year facilities management contract which involves phasing out ICL systems and transferring the work to an EDS data centre based on IBM hardware: coming hard on the heels of Marks & Spencer Plc’s decision to move from ICL to IBM mainframes, the decision is tough news for the STC company.
