Bracknell-based distributor Bytech Peripherals Ltd, part of Electron House Plc, has bought the independent distributor Westwood Computers Ltd for UKP425,000 by issuing 270,000 ordinary shares of 10 pence in Electron House. Westwood’s trade business will merge with Bytech Peripherals thereby increasing Bytech’s current distribution business by about 30%. However, as Westwood has spent the past 10 years building up its dealer trade this side of the business will be further developed as an autonomous entity. Trading under the Westwood name, it will, initially, centre its business around the IBM and Compaq Computer ranges. Altogether the acquisition has widened Bytech’s geographical net, which now has offices in Scotland as well as in England.
