Electrocomponents Plc yesterday announced two new presents for its fast-expanding Misco International computer supplies distribution business. It has bought Dabus AB, a Swedish direct mail computer supplies specialist with bases in Stockholm, Malmo and Gothenburg for an initial UKP2m with a further payment to be made according to how pre-tax profits for the year to June 30 1990 come out; all directors bar the managing director have signed three-year service contracts. The other acquisition is of a 65% stake in Microbits Inc, which will be merged with the new Misco Canada Inc; Electrocomponents paid UKP1.1m for the stake, will pay another UKP100,000 for a further 5%, leaving the remaining 30%, on which it also holds an option, in the hands of the company’s president and vice-president.
