Eight consortia are lined up to bid for a second cellular telephone licence and for three paging licences in Singapore: Cellular 2000 comprises Centennial Cellular Corp, Prima Ltd, Chuan Hup Holdings Ltd, and Comit Communications Technologies Pte Ltd; GETel comprises Guthrie GTS, Econ International Ltd and Telstra Corp Ltd; Intraco Consortium comprises Intraco Ltd, Teledata (Spore) Ltd and Hutchinson Telecommunications Ltd; MobileOne (Asia) Consortium comprises Keppel Telecoms, SPH Multimedia and Great Eastern Telecommunications; the fifth is a Sembawang Corp-led group comprising Sembawang Systems Pte Ltd, Vodafone Europe Holdings BV and NTUC Voice Co-operative Society Ltd; Singapore Mobile comprises Computer Systems Advisers Holdings Ltd and Millicom International Cellular SA; ST Cellular Consortium comprises Singapore Technologies Ventures Pte Ltd, Comfort Group Ltd, Singapore International Media Pte Ltd and BellSouth International Inc; and the eight is led by the WyWy Group comprising Wywy Pte Ltd, Orchard Parade Holdings, Motorola Inc, Airtouch Communications Inc and DDI Corp of Japan; the eight groups are also short-listed to bid for the paging licences; the tenders will be awarded in mid-1995.
