EICON UNVEILS ACCESS BOARD ADAPTORS

By CBR Staff Writer

Montreal-based Eicon Technology Inc has expanded its multi- service access board family with the introduction of two new adaptors to enable small branch offices to access remote computing resources via a choice of wide area network services such as Frame Relay, ISDN, X.25, and IBM Corp SNA among others. The Eicon C21 and C31 are wide area network communications co- processors for AT bus and PC Card-based workstations and personal computers. Each has a serial port for connection over serial or leased lines and the company claims that the C31 is the first product to offer both serial and ISDN connections. The C21 is due to ship this month at $1,645 and the C31, also due this month, at $1,745.
