It is estimated that 120 million users will be searching the web for healthcare information by 2005.

This creates opportunities within healthcare to reach an increasing customer base and should be utilized by players in the market. It also creates opportunities from a business-to-business perspective. Twibell cited that Healthcare eCommerce in the US will reach $370 billion within four years with 60% coming from insurance claims, whereas Western Europe healthcare eCommerce will reach $420 billion by 2003. Eastern Europe eCommerce will rise from $340 million to $2.7 billion and for the UK, it will grow from $7.8 billion to $97 billion.
