Egnyte reveal EFSS market strategy

Egnyte publishes its strategy and technology roadmap

By James Nunns

Egnyte has introduced its strategy and technology roadmap within the Enterprise File Sync and Share (EFSS) market.

Egnyte will deliver a new set of big data analytics capabilities that will integrate into its open, hybrid platform and a suite of Adaptive Enterprise File Services. Their intelligent architecture gives customers insights on usage pattern dynamics that will anticipate and meet users’ needs.

These advancements will help Egynyte gain new levels of intelligence to develop a File Management and Protection portfolio, in a move designed to help the company pursue opportunities in those markets.

Egnyte’s EFSS will allow their customers to gain insights into all of their files, whether in the cloud, on premises or in a hybrid environment. Their Adaptive Files Services will provide enhanced file services layered into its existing portfolio for both line-of-business users and IT administrators.

A further roadmap has been announced on a new service, Content Intelligence, designed for end users as well as enhanced, Smart Reporting and Auditing for IT. Egnyte users will be able to see what’s happening with their corporate files and user activity, also allowing them to optimise their content strategies.

Vineet Jain, CEO and co-founder of Egnyte, said: "Unlike other providers, Egnyte is focused on delivering solutions that do not require trade-offs between the needs of end users and IT departments."

"The introduction of Adaptive Enterprise File Services is a major step forward in our goal of empowering enterprises to securely, easily, and intelligently share files at scale and in a way that seamlessly integrates with any cloud, storage, mobile device, and productivity application our customers are using. This is why our strategy has gained such strong endorsement from our customers and partners."

Features of the full suite for End-User Services will include the ability to access files both on and offline from any preferred mobile device. Content Intelligence will help new users understand how their files are being used inside and outside the organisation.

For IT Department Services the suite will provide end-to-end security, unified administration and management and smart reporting and auditing, which will help IT understand how information flows through their organisation.
