Egghead.com Inc, the Spokane, Washington PC retailer which switched from Main Street to the web in January reported second quarter net losses of $7.2m, or 30 cents per share, up from $4.9m losses last year, on revenues that fell 44.6%. Last year’s figures include the retail stores that are now closed. On a pro-forma basis, the revenues are up 73% from the comparable period last year. The company is overhauling its systems, standardizing on Oracle and plans to re-launch its web site next month with a traditional media program. For the half year Egghead.com saw net losses of $12.7m, up from $8.6m on revenues that fell 41.6% to $57.8m. Cash at the half way stage was $59.5m.
