Chinese internet company Intermost Corp has formed a joint venture with US software provider and training company Egan Systems Inc of Holbrook, New York. The new company, Tech 2020, will initially offer Year 2000 debugging services to Chinese businesses, financial institutions, the government and the military. Y2K is to get our foot in the door in China’s software and internet services market, an Egan official said. Egan produces the ICobol and VX Cobol software languages for use by programmers, as well as tools for making programming languages Year 2000 compliant.
