EFI, Xerox introduce new network colour print server

Designed for Xerox WorkCentre 7400 series to enhance office publishing

By CBR Staff Writer

EFI has launched its new Fiery network colour print server designed for Xerox’s WorkCentre 7400 Series colour multifunction printers (MFP). The company claimed that the combination brings in-house graphic design capabilities to users and delivers cost-effective colour prints.

According to the company, the WorkCentre 7400 series is engineered to perform multiple tasks for workgroups of any size. The standard workflow tools of the Fiery colour print server lessen the time required to complete print jobs with set-up of documents, including Microsoft PowerPoint and PDFs. Customers also have access to more set-up and finishing options for jobs like booklets, posters, brochures and fliers.

John Henze, vice president of marketing for Fiery division, said: With intuitive workflows, automated tools and consistent high-quality colour, Fiery technology brings significant new capabilities and strong ROI to the office segment. Together with the powerful features of the Xerox WorkCentre 7400 Series, users can quickly and easily produce finished, vibrant colour documents in a variety of sizes without expert knowledge.

To keep office data secure, the Fiery network colour print server for the WorkCentre 7400 Series has included new security features such as secure access privileges and control based on assigned roles and responsibilities. The server can be deployed in both Windows and Macintosh environments.

Leah Quesada, director of product marketing at Xerox Corporation, said: Colour documents are quickly becoming the output of choice in the office, and the Fiery-driven Xerox WorkCentre 7400 Series provides a unique combination of productivity and colour management tools that let users do more in-house. From sales and marketing to HR, this solution gives office workers easy to use tools to ensure accurate colour prints at an affordable price every time.

According to EFI, the three models in the WorkCentre 7400 series range in speed from 26 pages per minute (ppm) to 35ppm in colour, and 28ppm to 45ppm in black and white. The systems also scan and fax, and include tools to integrate workflows and manage colour costs.
